Part 2 Training

Part 2 training for PDIs

Part 2 is the driving ability test, and the standard is high: you can have no more than six driving faults. Many good drivers are caught out by habits they have never noticed, or by nerves on the day.

I offer Part 2 training in person, tailored to you. We drive together, I identify exactly what would cost you marks, and we work on it until it becomes second nature.

I passed the DVSA Special Driving Test for Driving Instructors, known as the Cardington Special Test, with no faults, and I have been preparing instructors for their tests for more than 25 years.

Free download: my 52-page Part 2 training booklet, updated for the test as it is today, with every “show me, tell me” question and all four reversing exercises.

How it works

1. Assessment drive

We start with a drive so I can see your driving as an examiner would.

2. A plan for you

I explain clearly what needs to change and why, so you understand it rather than just being told.

3. Practice until it sticks

We work on each area on real roads until your driving is consistent and test ready.

Training is in person in Ashford, Kent, as a full bespoke day. Shorter sessions may be possible, so just ask.

What instructors say

I just want to take the time to say thank you for your help with my Part 2 in Folkestone earlier in the year. I also recently have been on your Zoom courses in final preparation for my Part 3, which I am very happy to say I have passed.

Graham sure knows the job inside out and his thinking becomes your thinking. When I passed my Part 2 with no faults and Part 3 first time with full marks, I remembered Graham’s training.

Then on to Part 3

Once Part 2 is done, my Part 3 training will help you get ready for the final test.
