Free ADI Part 2 Training Booklet
A 52-page guide to the Part 2 Test of Driving Ability, written for PDIs and the ADIs who train them. It’s free to download.
I first wrote this manual for my own Part 2 trainees. It has been updated many times since, and this edition reflects the test as DVSA describes it today. It is designed to be used alongside a course of training, not as a stand-alone driving manual.
Current edition: October 2026, based on the Part 2 test as described on GOV.UK on 1 October 2026. DVSA may change the test from 13 October 2026. I’ll update the booklet when anything changes. Always confirm the details at gov.uk/adi-part-2-test before your test.

Leave your email and I’ll send you the updated booklet whenever the Part 2 test changes, plus occasional free tips for PDIs and ADIs.
You can unsubscribe at any time, and I’ll never share your details.

Want help getting to Part 2 standard?
Reading about it is a start, but the standard comes from driving with feedback. I passed the DVSA Special Driving Test for Driving Instructors, known as the Cardington Special Test, with no faults, and I offer Part 2 training in person.
